Leopard Tortoise

Found in Central to Southern Africa

Habitat: Savannah in grasslands & scrub forests.

Size: These are large tortoises that can weigh up to 30kg and measure 60cm (24 inches) in length.

Diet: Herbivore. In the wild they enjoy grass, cactus and weeds.

Threats: habitat loss, pet trade

Did you know? As well as being able to float this tortoise is thought to be able to stay under water for periods of time!
