SAFARI ZOO is situated at the southern tip of the Lake District in the North West of England on the A590 trunk road.
PLEASE NOTE - OUR ENTRANCE HAS MOVED AS OF 7.7.15 PLEASE FOLLOW THE SIGNS FOR SAFARI ZOO. YOU WILL NO LONGER ENTER THE VILLAGE OF DALTON BUT TURN OFF PRIOR.
Take Junction 36 from the M6 and follow the elephant signs or the signs towards Barrow in Furness. After Ulverston the brown “SAFARI ZOO ” Elephant Tourist Signs take over.
By Public Transport - stagecoach
PLEASE NOTE OUR ENTRANCE HAS MOVED. The new entrance is located at the end of a bus route. If you are arriving by train from Dalton in furness Station or wanting to use public transport from Barrow in Furness, Ulverston or even Kendal both the X6 and 6 stop at our new entrance.
From Barrow, Dalton in Furness, or Dalton Station - Lindal in Furness - “Melton Top” is the stop to ask for. You’ll see a pedestrian path from the bus stop which takes you right up to our zoo boundary.

By Train:
The nearest railway station is Dalton in Furness. From Barrow, Dalton in Furness, or Dalton Station - Lindal in Furness - “Melton Top” is the stop to ask for. You’ll see a pedestrian path from the bus stop which takes you right up to our zoo boundary.
