Public transport from Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston, Dalton-in-Furness Train Station or even Kendal. The X6 & 6 both stop at our new entrance bus stop “Melton Top - Lindal-in-Furness” You’ll see a pedestrian path from the bus stop which takes you right to our park entrance. For return you will need “Bankers Corner - Dalton-in-Furness”. There are roughly 4 buses an hour. The full timetable is available HERE
The nearest railway station is “Dalton-in-Furness (DLT)” A bus or Taxi can be taken right to our entrance from here or you can walk the short 25min walk shown here
Discounted rates with the following local taxi firms are avaliable. Ring to reserve a driver to meet you from the train and arrange to take you back when it’s time to go home after a great day out.

Searching for South Lakes Safari Zoo / South Lakes Wild Animal Park may take you past our new entrance road. If your GPS doesn’t locate Melton Terrace please try our staff only entrance address taking note of the instructions beneath to turn off at the correct junction.

Coming from the M6, Follow the brown zoo signs along the A590 & turn at the sign for Marton. Do not continue into Dalton-in-Furness.

£1.50 Animal Feed Bag Per Bag
The bag mix can feed all the following animals.
• Kangaroos
• Wallabies
• Emus
• Peacocks
• Ducks
• Geese
• Swans
ONLY to be fed to the above animals in the Interactive Worldwide Safari zone.
Feeding our animals is entirely at your own risk, Safari Zoo accepts no responsibility for any injury or damage to any personal effect incurred whilst doing so. Caution this product may contain nuts.

Savanna’s Take Away - Grab a snack while your children use the adventure playground.

Outdoor and covered picnic areas opposite the Adventure Playground. It is recommended food isn’t taken past this point to prevent inconvenience entering interactive animal feeding areas. Visitors can exit to the car park at any time to collect/drop off any picnic items for convenience. We ask you not to feed any of our animals any of your food, offenders will be asked to leave the park.

The park is wheelchair accessible. Some newly added additional pathways to features are currently gravel based, if this is of concern there are alternative tarmaced routes to their destinations. Please ask a member of staff for route advice if there is any concern. Note. The bottom entrance to the Rhino house does contain a small set of stairs, The top Rhino house entrance is wheelchair friendly.
