We are ready for you!

So, you’ve booked your ticket, you’ve booked your admission time, all that’s left is to arrive and enjoy the day, safely.  So what does a socially distanced visit to Safari Zoo look like?

We have restricted the number of people that can visit the Zoo each day to ensure we can comply with social distancing.  We are opening slightly earlier and we have implemented hourly arrival time slots from 9:30am through to 3:30pm to stagger visitor arrivals and reduce queues.  Our closing time is 5pm, we advise visitors to allow themselves a minimum of 3-4 hours to fully enjoy all the zoo has to offer.  Please note that the time slot you choose only relates to your arrival time, you are free to spend as much time as you wish in the zoo within our published opening times but please do arrive within your allotted time slot, failure to do so may result in you being refused access.

Every visitor MUST have a ticket and MUST have reserved an admission time via our eventbrite system  This includes members, holders of tickets from third party organisations (radio stations, viator etc) and toddlers.  Securing an admission time is free of charge via eventbrite.

Our admissions team are pawesome and want to help but they will not have the facility to take payments on arrival.  Please help us to keep them safe by securing your tickets in advance.

You will need to provide a printed copy of your admission ticket PLUS the QR code for your booked arrival time (please note those who have booked both their ticket and their entrance time via Eventbrite need only provide the QR code)

What are we doing to keep you, and our teams, safe?

In line with government guidelines we are limiting our visitor numbers, please support us by booking both your ticket and your admission time online in advance of your visit.

We are opening earlier and we have implemented hourly arrival time slots from 9:30am through to 3:30pm to stagger visitor arrivals and reduce queues.

Our 2 metre pawprint system runs throughout the zoo in popular areas, queue systems and at viewing points – Aligning yourself (and your family group) with a pawprint will keep you, your family your fellow visitors, and the team here, safe.

Please pay attention to our signage which highlights the areas which are a little narrow and use the passing places and/or single file to allow your fellow guests to pass safely and at a distance.  The Illescas walk through aviary, Walk Through Tambopata Aviary and World Wide Safari are one way only, please follow the signage to ensure all visitors enjoy a safe and socially distanced visit.

Signage reminders are in place throughout the zoo encouraging social distancing at all times.

You will find the playground closed in line with government guidelines – this will be back available as soon as possible – we are pleased to confirm this is the only area of the zoo which we have had to close off to you, our visitors.

Our cafes and kiosks will be open serving takeaway food and drinks only.  Socially distanced outdoor seating is available.

We have implemented additional stringent cleaning regimes on touch points to ensure the safety of staff and visitors including hand rails, door handles, windows, counters and window frames to keep our visitors and our team safe.

Hand wash facilities and hand sanitising stations are available to all visitors throughout the zoo

We have, for the time being, cancelled all animal talks, public and hand feedings to discourage crowds.  Our pawesome keeper team will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions and to show you all the fabulous jobs they do as part of their daily routines.
