Little egret

/Little egret

Little egrets are a small species of heron. Their feathers are all white, and they have black beaks and legs. Two of the feathers on the napes of their necks are extended into long plumes. They are social and are found in groups, sometimes small and sometimes large. They spend much of their time standing in shallow water or soft mud in search of food like small insects or frogs. They will then gather to roost in trees at night.
